Manchester Airport Terminal 3
Terminal 3 is the smallest of the terminals at Manchester Airport. Historically it was used exclusively by British Airways and domestic carriers. Now however it is commonly used by Flybe, BMI Baby, BMI and Easyjet. Although the majority of domestic flights still depart from here, some international routes are also serviced by Terminal 3.
Before Check In
As it handles the majority of domestic flights, Terminal 3 is the home of most commuter routes. The terminal is specifically laid out with this in mind: allowing people to pass quickly through check in, security and the gate without getting held up. Prior to check in any coffee cravings or newspaper requirements are satisfied by Costa Coffee and WHSmith.
Checking In
Before heading to the airport it is important that you check the specific details, requests and requirements relating to your flight, as check-in procedures and baggage allowances tend to differ from airline to airline. The majority offer online check-in which is a great way to reduce the time spent waiting around when you arrive at the airport- or to maximise your shopping time in the Tax Free area after security. Failing that, there are a number of green self-service check-in machines to be found in the airport. These machines allow you to confirm your booking and print your boarding card quickly and head on through to customs. It is worth remembering that as a guideline you should arrive 3 hours before departure for a non-EU flight, 2 hours prior for an EU flight and check in at least one hour before the departure time for domestic flights.
After Security
Although presently the base of domestic flights, Terminal 3 of Manchester Airport is destined to ultimately handle budget airlines and a number of carriers already run international routes from this terminal. As a consequence, the departure lounge area of Terminal 3 features shopping, eating and drinking opportunities to appeal to business travellers and holiday makers alike.
